Furthermore, once we accept the principle that it comes in two dispensations, there is no need to resort to allegory. With a covenant theology it is possible to read the Old Testament in the literal sense while at the same time stating that it is no longer necessary to keep all its rules and regulations, because what was compulsory then has now been abrogated and replaced by something different
